ROBIN T. COTTON,
MD
It is indeed a privilege and an honor for me to introduce
Philippe Narcy to the members of this society who will present him with
the Gabriel F. Tucker Award.
Philippe Narcy is internationally well known for his exclusive work in
pediatric otolaryngology and laryngology in particular. He has certainly
made substantial contributions to the field of pediatric laryngology.
Philippe has been a professor of otolaryngology at Paris VII University
since 1974 and is presently the Chief of the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology
and Head and Neck Surgery at the Robert Debré Hospital in Paris.
He is a founder member and the first president of the French Association
for Pediatric Otolaryngology and is truly the father of pediatric otolaryngology
in France. He has been responsible for establishing the subspecialty in
France and training physicians to fill key positions in children's hospitals
throughout France.
He has a very extensive bibliography, published mainly in the European
journals, and has been an International Member of the American Society
of Pediatric Otolaryngology since 1989.
Dr Narcy, it is indeed my pleasure to present the Gabriel F. Tucker Award
to you on behalf of the American Laryngological Association. |
