139th Annual Meeting of the American Laryngological Association

The 139th Annual Meeting of the American Laryngological Association (ALA) will be held with Combined Otolaryngological Spring Meetings (COSM) on April 18-20, 2018 National Harbor, Maryland - a Washington, DC suburb.  This meeting will celebrate the expansion of the footprint with the inclusion of a third half-day session.  Many of our attendees, over the years, requested the larger footprint that provides additional time  for an increased number of speakers' lectures.  This also provides the opportunity to allocate sufficient time for each oral presentation.

In working with the COSM Secretaries Liaison Committee (SLC), Dr. Gady Har-El, our current President and past secretary, was very instrumental in requesting the SLC to consider expanding the footprint for 2017 and 2018.  Dr. Lucian Sulica, the current Secretary, extended the request for the increase day to become permanent during our Annual Meetings.  The SLC approved the request and kudos to both Drs. Har-El and Sulica for their diligence on this pursuit. For the 2018 third half-day session, we will again collaborate with the ABEA to bring forth a program that will be of interest to practitioners in both subspecialties.

Dr. Har-El, along with the 2018 program committee with members Drs. Yolanda Heman-Ackah, Natasha Mirza, Michael Pitman, Susan Thibeault, and VyVy Young, and chaired by Dr. Dinesh Chhetri, promise to provide sharp-cutting topics, lectures and panel discussions.  Lectures, most notably the Daniel Baker, MD and the State of the Art, will be presented by widely recognized professionals who have made significant teaching or research contributions to laryngology.
